The Hush Post: The treatment handed out to Kulbhushan Yadav’s wife and mother by a section of the Pakistan media on the day they met the former naval officer seems to have pleased the country’s foreign ministry. The Foreign Office has congratulated the journalists.

However, another section of Pakistani journalists including Hassan Belal Zaidi, a senior journalist with Dawn, tweeted that Pakistan’s foreign affairs ministry (MOFA) office had planned the shameful heckling and later even thanked the journalists.

Reporters instead of reporting shouted taunts at the two women and said they were related to a killer who has blood on his hands. Foreign office even messaged reporters to thank them for ‘job well done’.  Anothe tweet said “This conduct is unbecoming of journalists.”
A video doing the rounds on the Internet shows how Jadhav’s wife and mother were first questioned by the Pakistani media outside the MOFA building and then at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad.

The question asked was “Aap ek dashtgard ki maa hain, kya kehna chahti hain iss baare mein?” was one of the many accusations put as a question.
“Aap ka beta sainkdo Pakistaniyon ka qatil hai, aap jawab den, aap bhag kyun rahe hain? Came another question from another journalist.
Taha Siddiqui, Pakistan bureau chief of WION News, said he was disgusted by what his fellow journalists did. “Somedays we do a story that disgusts us.”

Today was one such day. But it wasnt cuz of what I covered. Rather it was cuz of how my fellow journos behaved with mother & wife of Jadhav when they left FO building. They shouted taunts. It was very shameful. No words for the Pakistani journalists who think heckling and harassing a 70-year-old woman is the best way to express patriotism.”

The two women, Jadhav’s wife and mother were forced to speak with a glass barrier separating them, they were also forbidden to speak in Marathi. In addition, Pakistani officials displayed zero cultural sensitivity and made Jadhav’s wife and mother change clothes and remove their mangalsutra, bangles and bindi. Jadhav’s wife’s footwear was not returned to her either.
