Kasol is in the centre of controversy after an arrest of a terrorist in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh recently. Following this the Himachal Police started tracking all the incoming and outgoing tourists in Kasol. The arrested man with possible terror links had confessed that he used to live in Kasol. About a year ago, another terrorist named Abid Khan was arrested from Banjar area of Kullu district. Banjar is in the vicinity of Kasol, and like Kasol, is known to attract tourists in huge numbers.
