The Hush Post: It is almost a repeat of Varnika Kundu-stalking like case which took place a few months ago. This time, three men dead-drunk, including a Punjab Police cop chased the car of a woman in their SUV around two kms passing lewd comments and tried to abduct her in Sector 36.

The 26-year-old resident of Mohali was returning home after meeting a friend around 12.30 am. When she reached Sector 36, the accused – identified as 27-year-old Jaskaran Singh, a constable in Mohali, and two first-year BA students, Gurdass Singh, 20, and Karamveer Singh, 20, started following her in their Toyota Innova.
The driver repeatedly tried to get in her way and block her. Alternately, they kept passing lewd comments. She kept ignoring them till they finally blocked her car. One of the accused alighted from the SUV and approached her car. The woman managed to give them a slip. She called police helpline number, and gave a description of the three accused and the registration number of the SUV. After 15-20 minutes of flashing the SUV number over wireless sets, a police control room team of Sector 36 caught the accused from the market of Sector 35 C.

A liquor bottle was found in their vehicle. A medical examination confirmed that the three were badly drunk. Two of the accused, Gurdas and Karamveer, are from Punjab and live in a rented accommodation in Sector 63.
In the meanwhile, police have lodged a case under of wrongful restraint, assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty, stalking, kidnapping with the intention of secretly and wrongfully confining a person. A local court has sent the three accused in one-day police remand.
