TUESDAY DELHI’S WARMEST DAY OF WINTER IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS, DAY TEMP OVER 25 DEGREES CELSIUS; SHIMLA TO SEE A SNOWLESS JANUARY

The Hush Post: Delhi-NCR on Tuesday witnessed the warmest day of winter in the last five years. The maximum day temperature in Delhi was 25.5 degree Celsius, which was last witnessed in 2012. Weather forecast predicts it to reach 26 degrees in the next 2-3 days. It led to warmth in the air.

The Indian Meterological Department observed that maximum temperatures are markedly above normal  (5.1 degree Celsius or more) at many places  in Jammu & Kashmir, HP, Punjab and a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and west Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, Shimla has remained without snow in the month of January for the first time in the last 11 years. The last time such weather conditions prevailed was in 2007.  Though it is biting cold in the mornings and evenings, tre has been no rain or snow in the hills, except for snow in the higher reaches in early December. No rain with clear sky and sunny days are expected till January 21. On Monday, the maximum temperature was two degrees above normal in Shimla.
