The Hush Post: Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was found guilty in the third fodder scam case. The special CBI judge SS Prasad in Ranchi convicted the Rastriya Janta Dal chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Another conviction in the case today happened of former Chief Minister of Bihar Jagannath Mishra. Earlier this month, while Mishra was acquitted in the second fodder scam, Lalu was awarded three-and-a-half years in jail in yet another fodder scam. Today’s punishment was in a case pertaining to Chaibasa Treasury from which about Rs. 33 crore were pilfered against the allocation of about Rs.7 lakh in 1992-93.
The last case in which Lalu Yadav was convicted and sent to jail dealt with withdrawal of Rs. 89 lakh by fraud means from the Deoghar district treasury between 1990 and 1994.
There are still two more cases in Jharkhand in which the verdict is expected in the coming few months.
