Ghaziabad woman to face trial for false rape case

The Hush Post:  While accepting the final report filed by the Lucknow Police, the Special Court for cases under SC/ST Act has ordered to start criminal proceedings against a woman who had got a rape case registered against IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and activist Dr Nutan Thakur. That case had been registered by the police of Gomti Nagar police station, Lucknow on July 11, 2015.

In its order, the special court said that a perusal of the report and statements of the alleged victim had been found to be contrary to the report. Besides, the location of the mobile number of the alleged victim did not match the location of the alleged crime. On these basis, the court held that these allegations were found to be flase and allegations of the IPS officer Amitabh Thakur using his influence were also found to be incorrect. The court also held that it was also not possible that a woman calls another woman to her place so that her husband can rape her. The court said that it was hard to believe.

With these findings, the court accepted the final report filed by the Lucknow Police that was filed on March 20, 2017.
