GUDIYA CASE: DISBANDED SIT TEAM TO BE PRODUCED IN COURT TOMORROW

Shimla, The hush post: The next hearing in the Suraj custodial death case, an aftermath of Gudiya’s rape and murder, has been fixed for November 23 by the CBI court. Suspended Superintendant of Police DW Negi will be presented in the designated CBI court tomorrow. All the other eight members of the disbanded SIT will also be produced along with Negi. The application for the voice sampling test will also be taken up tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Gudiya Nyaya Manch and other social NGOs associated with it converged at the AG Chowk and raised slogans against the delay in getting justice for Gudiya. Barricades had been put up by the administration and heavy deployment of police was seen at the AG Chowk to prevent any untoward incident. The convener of the  manch Vijender Mohan said that the perpetrators of  the crime were roaming scotfree and the political, administrative and the influential wealthy people were trying to protect them.

In another move by the state CID department, over 23 persons have been identified in the incidents relating to stone pelting and destroying public property at the Kotkhai police station during the violence and public outcry that erupted after the gudiya rape and murder case came to light. A challan will be presented in the court soon by the CID department and those who went inside the police station and broke computers and burnt police files would be hauled up. The  CID is scanning video footage which went viral on social media at that time.
