INSTITUTE FOR STUDY OF THE BHAGWAD GITA TO COME UP IN VARANASI: UP MINISTER

The Hush Post: A research institute for the study of the ‘Bhagavad Gita’ will be soon set up by the Uttar Pradesh government in the temple town, Varanasi.  The Gita Research Institute has been proposed by the Yogi Adityanath government. “For research on Gayan (singing), Vadan (the art of music) and Nratya (dance) of the Krishna age, the government is setting up the institute,” said Minister for Religious works and culture Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, speaking at the 144th anniversary celebration of the Government Museum, Mathura. The museum houses artifacts, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and coins primarily from in and around Mathura, and discoveries made by noted colonial archaeologists. The museum is famous for ancient sculptures of the Mathura school dating from 3rd century BC to 12th century AD, during the Kushan empire and Gupta empire . The Government of India issued a postage stamp in 1974 on the centenary of the museum.
