DAINIK JAGRAN HAS HIGHEST NEWSPAPER READERSHIP OF 7 CRORE IN INDIA

The Hush Post: In the times of television news and internet, it might seem the newspaper reading habit has gone down, but the Indian Readership Survey 2017 suggests an upward trend of news readership.  The survey brought out by the Media Research Users Council puts Dainik Jagran and The Times of India at the top among Hindi and English dailies. Surprisingly, Dainik Jagran has a total readership of over 7 crore while The Times of India has a total readership of over one crore.

Hindustan with a total readership of over 5 crore is at number 2 followed by Amar Ujala at number 3 with an overall readership of 4 crore. Number four position is held by Dainik Bhaskar. Daily Thanthi is at No. 5 and Lokmat at No. 6. Rajasthan Patrika is at number 7 spot followed by Malayala Manorama and then Eenadu and Prabhat Khabar.

Among the English dailies, The Times of India is at No. 11 followed by Anandabazar Patrika and Punjab Kesari. In the last couple of years, while the Hindi readership grew by 45 per cent, the English readership went up by 10 per cent and Bengali readership by 9 per cent. The maximum readership of Oriya newspapers went up by a whopping 83 per cent in the last four years.
