The Hush Post: The Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) 2018 will be held on April 8th (Sunday) by the JEE Apex Board. The JEE Advanced test date is May 20. The top 2.24 lakh candidates in JEE Main will qualify to apply for JEE Advanced. The test will make the candidate eligible for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. The states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland & Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their state level examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) -2018 application form online. The process of Aadhaar authentication before submission of online form will be notified separately. The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE (Main) website http://www.jeemain.nic.in. The online application process will start from 01st December, 2017 onwards. The last date for application is January 1 and the fees can be paid up to January 2. There will be no weightage of the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination.
For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75 per cent marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65 per cent in the 12th class examination.
