NRI ARRESTED WITH 2 KG HEROIN WORTH RS 12 CRORE IN JAGRAON, LUDHIANA

The Hush Post, Jagraon: Two kg heroin worth about Rs 12 crore was seized in Jagraon by Jagraon police here today. As per the investigation, accused Amarjit Singh son of Ajaib Singh resident of Mukandpur disclosed that he is from New Jersey, America and has been there with his family for the last 30 years. He comes to India from time-to-time and usually smuggles heroin. One year ago, after coming from America, he went to Jammu and Kashmir to get the consignment of heroin but was arrested by the police along with his compainions, Mohammad Rafiq, Mohammad Saif, and Nassar Ahmed and case under FIR 134/2016 was registered against the three. After getting bail in that case, he continue to smuggle heroin. He has confessed that he got this consignment of heroin from Jammu and Kashmir and was going to supply it further. It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, Jagraon Police has recovered 85 bags of poppy husk.

The accused was nabbed when a white-colored Brezza car PB-10 GL-7401 was intercepted near Malak village. The driver of the car, tried to turn the car on seeing the police. The police immediately chased the car and three persons alighted and started running helter-skelter. The police party nabbed the car driver along with car. An FIR has been registered under NDPS Act.
