The Hush Post: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is the new in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. Notably, AAP suffered a major debacle in Punjab civic polls recently. It is believed that this change in Punjab has been done keeping in mind the civic poll debacle. Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party convener has faith in Manish Sisodia, also Sisodia is considered to be the right-hand man of the Delhi CM.
The state did not have a Punjab in charge for the last nine months. The last state in-charge of the party was Jarnail Singh. However, when the party lost in the Vidhan Sabha elections there was a huge vacuum in the party. And there was an interregnum of nine months.
Importantly, during the Vidhan Sabha elections, the party was badly divided into many groups, with the likes of Bhagwant Mann, who fought against Sukhbir Badal from Jalalabad and others like Harminder Singh Khalsa. At that point in time, Punjab leadership wanted that only the bonafide Punjab AAP members should take decisions regarding the distribution of tickets in the state. The party still lost badly compared with what the expectation of the party and people was.
Again this time around, Sukhpal Singh Khera has said the something. He said, “If AAP wants to succeed in 2022 polls, then all the rights about how the party should proceed should be decided with the volunteers of the party including distribution of tickets.”
