The Hush Post: A day after the death of 20-year-old Jamia Millia Islamia student and national hockey player Rizwan Khan, police claimed the deceased had informed his female friend that he was going to shoot himself.
Rizwan was a resident of Subhash Nagar in west Delhi and studied at Jamia Millia Islamia. He was a student of Bachelor’s of Arts second year. His body was found inside his car in Sarojini Nagar. It has come to light that hockey player Rizwan had sent a WhatsApp message that he would end his life.
“The woman in question had gone to Bhopal to participate in a hockey tournament. The police found a WhatsApp chat where Rizwan had texted that he was going to shoot himself if she did not meet him,” sources said. He added that the woman dissuaded him from doing so. It has also emerged that the two were friends earlier, but later parted ways.
It eventually became a one-sided affair. For the past about one year, she used to avoid him but he continuously stalked her. Recently, she befriended another man which angered him even more and he often made threatening calls or messages to her family.
Rizwan had also visited the house of the woman and left his bag filled with Rs 2 lakh cash, a mobile phone and some credit cards there.
The police said he had an argument with the girl’s family as well. Rizwan’s brother Riyazuddin Khan has accused the girl’s family of lying to them when they enquired about Rizwan on Monday.
