SIX DIE AS VEHICLE FALLS INTO GORGE IN NIRMAND, KULLU AFTER LANDSLIDE, FOUR IDENTIFIED

The Hush Post: Six people died when a vehicle after being hit by rocks falling from the hill then fell into the gorge in Nirmand, Kullu. The accident happened near Bajirbanwdi. The six killed were going to attend a marriage in Duttnagar.  Four of those killed have been identified as Gurdyal Singh, 28, from Jhimara village in Nirmand, Sita Ram, 48, Sita Devi,38, and their son Manjit, 13, the latter three are from one family in Duttnagar. The remaining two have not been identified yet. The accident happened when due to a landslide some rocks fell on the vehicle and subsequent the vehicle — HP 35-4541 — fell off road into a gorge. On many occasions in the past minor such accidents from the nearby sites have been reported, but this is the first major accident.

The police was called in the morning when some people saw the vehicle. They were assisted by the military to pull the bodies from underneath the rubble.
