Usha received severe head injuries on falling and she was declared brought dead in the hospital while husband is serious
The Hush Post: A pregnant woman, 30, was killed after a traffic cop allegedly kicked the motorbike she was riding pillion. Her husband was driving the bike at Thuvakudi in Tirchy. when the incident took place. The accused, inspector Kamaraj has been arrested.
The deceased Usha belongs to Papanasam in Thanjavur. The incident took place near Ganesha square on the Trichy–Thanjavur highway. Usha was riding pillion with her husband Raja when cops started carrying a drive to issue challan on those not wearing headgears.
The eyewitnesses say, the cop signalled Raja to stop. But he didn’t.
The incident apparently agitated the policeman, who mounted a motorbike of his and chased them. On approaching the couple, he kicked the bike sideways and the husband-wife duo fell.
Usha received severe head injuries. When people gathered, the cop made a vanishing act from the spot. Usha and Raja both were transported to a government hospital nearby where Usha was declared brought dead. The accused cop, Kamaraj too was admitted to a nearby hospital claiming he too received injuries. Usha was pregnant though, the police say that is yet to be confirmed.
