The Hush Post: The regular bail plea of Haryana BJP leader’s son Vikas Barala, accused of stalking and trying to kidnap DJ Varnika Kundu, has been rejected. Vikas had applied for a regular bail on November 25 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Before this, his bail plea was also rejected in the district courts on November 13. Till now, his bail plea has been rejected at least on four occasions. Earlier, the statement of Varnika was recorded on November 23. The victim identified both Vikas and Ashish in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court and reiterated that they were the ones who tried to kidnap her. The counsel for the defendant also cross-examined her. During the cross examination she said that she was talking to a friend at the time the incident took place.
The next date of hearing is December 6. The police has charged the two accused with section 341, 354-D, 365, 511, 34 of the IPC and Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
The incident took place on August 4, when in the midnight hours Varnika called up the police to say that she was being chased by two persons with an intention to harm her. Subsequently the police arrested the two, one of whom was later identified as Haryana BJP president’s son Vikas Barala.
