The Hush Post: The US based ‘Science Channel’ has hinted that the mythological ‘Ram Setu’ supposedly built by Lord Rama and his army, as mentioned in the Hindu scriptures, between India and Sri Lanka may actually have existed. The promo of the episode released by the channel suggests that the bridge, also called Adam’s Bridge, about 30 miles long as seen by NASA satellite images may not be a natural formation and may have been built by humans. The Channel tweeted: The ancient megalopolis of Angkor, King Aruthor’s tomb, a fabled manmade land bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka… An all new episode of #WhatOnEarth starts now. The findings by geologists and oceanographers put together in an episode ‘Ancient Land Bridge’ will be aired on a TV show ‘What on Earth’ on the Science Channel.
Supported by images from a Nasa satellite, the show claims that geologists have found that the sandbar on which the stones rest may be natural, the stone–like ‘objects’ on them have not been eroded away and seem to have been brought from afar. How these stones came here is a mystery, says the voice –over in the video.
It further says that scientific analysis reveals that the rocks could be about 7,000 years old while the sand surrounding it is about 4,000 years old. Referring to the Hindu scriptures Hindu mythological god Lord Shri Ram probably existed about 5,000 years ago. On the show, Dr Alan Lester, geologist, says building such a long bridge would have been a superhuman achievement at that time.
