The Hush Post: The license of World Wide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) was cancelled by the Mohali administration. However, a day later after court’s intervention a stay was granted against the cancellation orders. The WWICS’s head office is in Industrial Area, Phase VI, Mohali. The cancellation was issued by District Magistrate (DM) for allegedly hiding facts about police case registered against the owners.
The license was cancelled after WWICS hid facts in violation to the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2012. The decision to cancel the license was taken after taking legal opinion of the district attorney. However, a day later the Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the order passed by deputy commissioner (DC) Mohali cancelling the licence of immigration consultants WWICS.
The decision has been challenged in the HC and the court has said that the proceedings under the act may go on but the final order has not been passed. The petition is pending for hearing on December 11.
The Mohali DM order says that it is sufficiently clear that the company concealed facts regarding registration of the FIR against owners and its members being NRIs, thereby violating provisions of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2012 at the time of applying for license in 2013.
The cancellation was done after a complaints was filed against Anuj Kaushal, authorised representative of the WWICS operating from Chandigarh.
Various complaints were received against the company and its directors. It was also brought to the notice of the Mohali administration that cases of cheating under Immigration Act had been registered against the directors of company at Sector 17 police station, Chandigarh.
