The accused has confessed of operating his “cadaver brothel” for over five years and claimed to have some customers from all over the globe
The Hush Post: In a weird case, an employee of a morgue in Neveda, Las Vegas, was arrested last week on the charges of renting dead bodies for sex to the visitors to have sex in lieu of money.
A 36-year-old morgue worker James Whitaker from the City of Sins was held last week, for letting men have sex with the bodies under his care after taking money from them, a report said.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said that James Whitaker had pushed the motto “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” to a new level, by operating a cadaver brothel for over five years, the report said.
James Whitaker used to hook prospective customers through a private internet site on which he advertised the dead bodies readily available at the Clark County Coroner’s office, where he worked in the night shift as medical examiner, it was reported.
As per the cops, James Whitaker used to take $1,500 to $5,000 from the customers per sexual encounter, depending on the “quality of the merchandise”.
Lt. Jamal Brown, spokesman of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said that James Whitaker was arrested after he confessed to selling the services of a 49-year car accident victim to an undercover agent, the report said.
“Investigators had to spend months chatting with him on necrophile forums before he let his guard down and offered his services. A sting operation was rapidly organized and he was arrested on the spot,” Lt. Jamal Brown was quoted as saying in the report.
Lt. Brown reportedly said that James Whitaker had confessed that he had been operating his cadaver brothel for more than five years and claimed to have some customers from all over the globe.
“He told us he had customers in almost every American states, as well as Mexico, Europe, and Asia. He even claims to have some Middle Eastern princes among his regulars,” Lt. Brown was further quoted.
James Whitaker will now face as many as 1,734 criminal charges of necrophilia, corpse desecrations and felony mutilation of human remains and could face up to 700 years in prison, the report said.
Meanwhile, Frank C. Davis, the defence lawyer of James Whitaker has reportedly said that his client would plead “not guilty”, saying that the 36-year old necrophile was a victim of sexual discrimination, it was reported.
Davis hopes this trial will lead to the abolition of Nevada’s laws against necrophilia, which he says are un-constitutional. James Whitaker will remain under police detention until the beginning of his trial, which would begin in August, the report said.
