Chartered plane crashes in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area, five killed

The Hush Post: Five people were killed when a chartered plane crashed into an under-construction building in Mumbai suburb Ghatkopar today afternoon.
All occupants on board are dead. Two pilots Capt P S Rajput and Capt Maria, two aircraft maintenance engineers were were on board. One pedestrian was killed.
The 12-seater aircraft took off from Juhu airport and crashed in the compound wall of an under-construction building Jagruti around 1.10 pm. The fire brigade personnel were able to douse the flames by 1.40 pm.
The aircraft belonged to Mumbai-based company U Y Aviation Pvt Ltd owned by gutka baron Dipak Kothari.

It’s an old aircraft which earlier belonged to the UP government and was purchased by this company two years ago, a news report quoted a source.

The aircraft was less than three km from Mumbai airport main runway when it crashed. The plane had taken off from Juhu for testing, a ground report said. The black box of the ill-fated plane has been recovered.
