The Hush Post: Abhishek Bachchan recalled his share of criticism about acting and it was quite bizarre.
Abhishek said that he was at the Jagran Film Summit recently where he spoke about the year 2002 at the screening of his film Shararat.
“It was a tough time. I had once gone to Gaiety Galaxy to see how my film (Shararat) was doing; a lady came out and slapped me and said you’re embarrassing your family’s name, stop acting. Thankfully, I’m able to laugh about it today, but at that point, it was not a very good feeling,” he said.
Since then, Abhishek has graduated and is able to ward off trolls online in the most well-mannered possible.
More recently, Abhishek tackled a troll on Twitter who blamed him for Manmarziyan’s bad performance at the box office. ““#Manmarziyaan tanked at box-office, once again proving @juniorbachchan to be legend with amazing ability to make good film a flop! Kudos to his abilities, not many have it! It’s time to end #nepotism and for #StarKids to start #Vadapav stall..lol! #Stree proves #TalentCounts!!” He also added, “It time to end #nepotism and for #StarKids to start #Vadapav stall..lol! #Stree proves #TalentCounts!!”
Replying to the tweet, Abhishek wrote, “With all due respect kind sir, I would expect an esteemed doctor such as yourself to study all the facts and figures before proclaiming anything. I certainly hope you do so with your patients. Learn the economics of the film before you tweet something that will embarrass you.”
Abhishek made a comeback to movies after a break of two years with Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan. “It was a personal decision about how I want to approach my work. It wasn’t the kind of work I was doing or anything. It was just that I felt as an actor had become a bit complacent,” he said.
