The Hush Post: The whereabouts of 13 thousand crore rupees Punjab National Bank fraud main accused, Nirav Modi, have been traced to New York.  The disgraced diamantaire was earlier reported to be hiding in Hong Kong, but latest media reports have revealed that he had left the city way back in February. Nirav Modi’s current location has been precisely traced to Hotel Louis Regency, 540 Park Avenue, 61 Street, New York City, reported Aajtak.

Nirav Modi has been on the run ever since the PNB scam was unearthed. Hounded by the Indian investigative agencies, he has visited countries in West-Asia, North-east Asia, Europe and America during the past 4 months.

What’s interesting is that Modi’s passport, along with that of co-accused Mehul Choksi, was cancelled by the Indian government in February, but he still has managed to go places. Sources say that if the host country is ready to accept a person, then it doesn’t matter if he has a valid passport or not.

Modi had fled India on January 1 2018. He first went to UAE but had to leave the country owing to pressure from Indian agencies. He then went to Honk Kong and flew to London from there. aHe left for New York from London on March 17.

Modi had left Hong Kong on February 14, around when the Indian government had approached Hong Kong authorities for his deportation.
