Wagon R is amongst the top-selling models of Maruti Suzuki in India. The company has launched the all-new Wagon R 2019 in India. It is designed to suit Indian conditions and customer needs. Further, it had very little to do with the Wagon R models sold elsewhere in the world.
However, new 2019 Wagon R comes in two petrol engine variants, the 1.0-litre variant and 1.2-litre variant.
In the first place, the price for the base LXI model in the 1.0-litre engine starts at Rs 4.19 lakh and goes up to Rs 4.75 lakh for VXI (O) model ex-showroom New Delhi. The 1.2-litre engine starts at Rs 4.89 lakh for VXI model and goes up to Rs 5.69 lakh for 1.2L ZXI AGS model ex-showroom New Delhi.
To begin with, there are significant improvements done both in the exteriors and interiors of the new model. Consequently, the changes in the exterior design make it a much better-looking car than its predecessor. The all-new front bumper, bigger grill with chrome slat that houses the Suzuki logo and twin headlamps make the front look even imposing.
Also, there are substantial changes in the rear of the car especially the all-new huge vertically positioned taillamps, rear windshield wiper, defogger and chrome slat with the Wagon R lettering that gives the rear and tailgate a refreshing look.
Furthermore, some noteworthy and much-needed changes are made inside the cabin of the car. The two-tone dashboard and matching dual tone brown and beige fabric upholstery look solid and high quality. The highlight of the dashboard is a touchscreen infotainment system called the SmartPlay Studio that’s gives it an upmarket look. The infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with navigation.
The car now comes with driver airbag, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and front seatbelts reminder as standard features in all the variants. The car has a fuel tank with a capacity of 32 litres.
2019 Wagon R comes in six colours. The main competitors for the car in the country are the all-new Hyundai Santro, Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago.
