The Hush Post: Diamantaire Nirav Modi has written an email to his staff in India saying they should look for jobs elsewhere. He has said that with investigative agencies like the CBI and ED confiscating the stocks of his companies and his bank accounts being frozen there is no way he will be able to pay them.
“The near future is uncertain,” Modi wrote. A person very close to Modi’s legal team claimed the email is authentic. Modi is also in the process of writing to the Enforcement Directorate, CBI, the Ministry of External Affairs since his passport has been suspended.
Earlier, he had requested the bank to allow him to pay salaries to 2,200 employees from the balance lying in the current accounts. Nirav Modi slipped out of the country on January 1 and then appeared in a group-photo with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Davos, which many say was his trick to sound and look close to the powers that be. Finally, an FIR was registered against him on January 29. Earlier, talking about the FIR against him, he said “The haste was, in my humble submission, unwarranted, it has shut the doors on my ability to clear the dues, ” Modi wrote.
