Two schools in Noida have been closed temporarily after the coronavirus scare in Delhi NCR. The school compound is being fumigated as a precautionary measure.
The parents of The Shriram Millennium School in Noida have decided not to send their children to school. This, after the father of a child studying there testing positive for the novel coronavirus. However, Shiv Nadar School has shut down for six days as a precaution.
The District administration and CMO, Gautam Budh Nagar are in touch with The Shriram Millennium School administration and guiding them.
The first man to test positive for COVID-19 in Delhi has a travel history to Italy.
On his return, he visited a doctor in Mayur Vihar. When the symptoms didn’t show signs of abating, he was tested for coronavirus and tested positive.
He is currently recuperating in the isolation ward of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi.
A birthday party for his child was attended by several classmates and other friends residing in Noida and Delhi.
The Ministry of Health has reached out to all those who were present and tests are being conducted. In the meantime, they have all been advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.
The Shriram School has sent an mail to all parents mentioning the steps being taken by them for the safety of the children.
We wish to inform you that one of our parents who resides in Delhi, has tested positive for the Coronavirus and is undergoing treatment. We are being guided by the District administration and CMO Gautambudh Nagar who has visited the school today and discussed this matter in detail. As per their advice there is no cause for panic as the family of the patient and the other children who were in contact with the patient are asymptomatic and have no symptoms of the disease. These children have also been tested and as a precautionary measure have been quarantined for the next 2 weeks.
Keeping in mind the safety and well being of our children we are taking the following steps with immediate effect:
The school will remain closed from tomorrow, Wednesday, 4th March to Friday, 6th March 2020.
All learning spaces in the school campus, as well as the school buses are being fumigated and sanitised completely and thoroughly.

In the wake of the worldwide spread of COVID-19 – the coronavirus and detection of 2 cases in India (1 in Delhi), it has been decided to close the school from March 04, 2020 until March 09, 2020 for all students and staff in order to sanitize our spaces and completely remove all scope for the further spread of the virus.
