Kiran Bala’s dream proved to be short lived. Media reports say that after all this drama her husband, Mohammed Azam has gone back to Saudi Arabia, leaving her alone in Lahore.
The Hush Post: Much ado about nothing, Kiran Bala aka Amna Bibi might be really thinking in retrospection. The woman who had went missing while on a pilgrimage to Pakistan had sent the Indian intelligence agencies into a tizzy and had openly stated that she won’t return to India despite repeated appeals and requests by her family, all for she thought that she had found a perfect soulmate, and that too across the border.
However, after this entire hullabaloo, Kiran Bala’s dream proved to be short lived. Media reports say that after all this drama her husband, Mohammed Azam has gone back to Saudi Arabia, leaving her alone in Lahore. It is reported that Azam works in a factory in Saudi and had specially come to Lahore on a two month leave to marry her. Some reports even suggest that Kiran Bala has become disillusioned with her marriage.
Kiran Bala, 31, a Sikh woman from Garhshankar in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district, was a part of the SGPC jatha which had gone on a pilgrimage to Pakistan on April 12. Four days later, on April 16, she went missing and later surfaced as Amna Bibi, married to a Muslim man in Lahore.
Kiran Bala was married to Narinder Singh, a mechanic, in 2005 with whom she had three kids, now aged aged 6, 8 and 12 whom she had disowned after marrying Mohammed Azam. Narinder died in a road accident in 2013 after which she lived at her in-laws’ home.
