Even as the anti-Citizen Amendment Act protests across the country are on, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday tweeted on granting “fast track” citizenship to former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf has been sentenced to death in a high treason case. Additionally Musharraf was born in Delhi in the year 1942.

On Tuesday, an Islamabad-based special court sentenced the former Pakistani leader to death. He was convicted in the long-drawn high treason case against him.
Since last week, widespread protests are taking place in India. The protests are over the enactment of CAA. The CAA provides citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who faced religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, However, they should have arrived before December 31, 2014.
