Shah Rukh Khan’s cousin Noor Jehan to contest elections in Pakistan

The Hush Post: A cousin of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will be contesting elections in Pakistan soon. King Khan’s cousin Noor Jehan is gearing up to take the poll plunge in next Pakistan elections.

Pakistan’s general elections are scheduled to be held on July 25 this year, and SRK’s cousin Noor Jehan is planning to contest from Peshawar, a Pakistan English daily Express Tribune reported.

Noor Jehan is eying to contest for a Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa seat from PK-77 constituency as an independent candidate. The report quoted her as saying that she was entering the fray because she wanted to work for women’s empowerment. The family, it is said, has a history of political participation in the neighbouring country.

Mansoor, brother of Noor Jehan reportedly told a media outlet that she had earlier served as a councillor, and that their family had been a part of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, who was popularly known as Frontier Gandhi. Mansoor is also holding Jehan’s campaign, the report said.
