The Hush Post: Alleging mistreatment by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a Dalit Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament, Chhotelal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and complained about the same.
Chhotelal, in his letter, alleged that he was scolded by Yogi and was forced to leave when he might him on two occasions.
As per The Quint, Chhotelal, a Lok Sabha MP from Robertsganj was extremely upset when his younger brother was voted out as the head of a block. In the letter he wrote to the PM, the MP has claimed that local BJP leaders are working against him and his brother, in tandem with rival parties.
The MP also complained to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, but his complaints yielded no response from the Commission.
Alleging that he was threatened with a pistol, Chhotelal said that an opponent also used a casteist slur against him. Even the police has refused to file a case.
Believing that the grudge against him arose because he helped his brother get elected from an unreserved seat, Chhotelal said he has approached the PM only after all internal options had been exhausted.
Chhotelal complained against the UP CM, UP BJP President Mahendra Nath Pandey and General Secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal in his letter. In his letter, Chhotelal has also appealed to the PM to “protect the honour of Dalit and adivasis”.
Responding to the letter, Prime Minister Modi assured Chhotelal that suitable action will be taken.
