BJP claims Rahul Gandhi is in Bangkok; Cong says don’t mix personal with public life

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is missing in action from the poll battle in Haryana and Maharashtra. And, BJP has claimed that Rahul Gandhi is in Bangkok during this crucial phase. The party said that Rahul Gandhi left for the Thai capital on Saturday.

Karnataka BJP tweeted, “With Elections to Maharashtra & Haryana around the corner, Voters are eagerly waiting to watch and listen to their “Star Campaigner”.@INCIndia, is it true that he has already left for Bangkok? Now who will talk about “Sona from Aloo in Ambala” and “Mobiles Made in Aurangabad”?

It is still not clear as to why Rahul Gandhi is in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, the BJP has continued to corner the Congresss leader over his Bangkok visit. Haryana BJP leader Jawahar Yadav wrote on Twitter, “The other day Ahmed Patel Saheb was asking Bhupinder Singh Hooda Saheb – Where did the party go? Today it surfaced that the party has gone to Bangkok”.

BJP’s IT Cell chief Amit Malviya upped the ante`. “Just in case you are wondering why is Bangkok trending…” he tweeted.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has come to Rahul Gandhi’s defence.He wrote, “The personal should not be mixed with the public life of an individual. We need to entitle everybody an eternal sense of liberty and privacy. After all, this is the basic and outlining principle of a progressive and liberal democracy.”

Notably, Bangkok is known for its sex tourism. Thousands of Indian’s visit the city every year.
