Another former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra acquitted in this case

The Hush Post: The special CBI court in Ranchi on Monday held former Rail Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in another fodder scam case. It is the fourth Dumka treasury fodder scam case in which Yadav has been convicted. In this case another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra was held not guilty and was acquitted of the charges.

The court acquitted five out of the seven accused in this case.

The RJD chief was not present in court when the judge pronounced his verdict. Yadav has been admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) after he got ill in the Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi on Saturday. The RJD leader was complaining of chest pain.

The Bihar CM is serving a sentence in the fodder scam case. Lalu was admitted to RIMS and is under observation of doctors at the cardiology department. An ECG and other tests were conducted on the RJD leader and his condition is said to be stable.

Lalu’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, along with senior party leaders and a big number of RJD supporters reached the hospital after Lalu was brought there.

Lalu is presently serving a 13-year jail term in three fodder scam cases in Birsa Munda jail.

The fodder scam case reportedly involves the alleged withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury during Lalu Yadav’s tenure as Bihar’s chief minister.

On Saturday, 17 March, a special CBI court had adjourned the judgment against Yadav and Mishra in the fourth fodder scam case.
