The Hush Post: After recent success in the Northeast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got a jolt in its stronghold Uttar Pradesh where in by-election the saffron party was trailing in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s bastion Gorakhpur and also in Phulpur constituency where the candidate of Samajwadi Party (SP) was leading over the BJP’s when the last report came in.
The counting of votes in Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh is underway. As per latest reports, BJP is trailing in CM Yogi Adityanath’s stronghold Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat. In n Phulpur Lok Sabha constituency, Samajwadi Party candidate has consolidated its lead over BJP nominee, Financial Express and other online dailies reported on Wednesday afternoon.
The media reports said that outcome in these two constituencies holds significance as both the constituencies are considered as stronghold of UP CM Yogi Adityanatha and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. Just before polling, the S) and Bahuhan Samaj Party (BSP) of Mayawati had joined for elections to counter the saffron party.
