The Hush Post: Thirty-six students who were allegedly sexually assaulted at the Pune Madrasa was rescued by the Police on Friday.
Rahim, 21, the Maulana of the Madrasa is accused of sexual harassment. He was arrested on charges of sexual assault in Pune’s Katraj area. This, after two 10-year-old children ran away from the Madrasa alleging harassment.
“We have registered a case against him. Further investigations are underway,” said Kondhwa police inspector Milind Gaikwad.
The Child Welfare Committee saved the two children. They said that the children ran away as one of the clerics who visited the institution used to sexually abuse an inmate. Rahim would ask them to remove the clothes and then touch their private parts.
The Madrasa is known for teaching students between the age of 5 and 14 years.
The first case against the Madrasa was filed by the mother of the minor girl on January 14, when her 11-year-old daughter was allegedly raped and other daughter was sexually assaulted.
The next case was registered on January 15 by the girls that they face sexual exploitation in the institution.
Moreover, 51 girls were allegedly held hostage and sexually abused by the manager of a madrasa in Lucknow’s Shahadatganj area in December 2017. More than 125 girls studied at the madrasa, said the police.
