The kid used to go out to the park to play in the evenings. He would then come back, have biscuits and go to sleep, all the while his mother was hanging from the ceiling.
The Hush Post: A Mohali woman committed suicide three days back and her body continued to hang from the ceiling fan since then. What is even more appalling is that her seven-year-old son stayed inside the house all this time. The boy used to go outside, play and return home, but he never told anybody about his mother, reported Jagran.com.
It was only after the neighbours complained to the police about a foul smell emanating from the house that the matter came into light. The dead body had decomposed badly in three days. A team led by DSP City-2, Vijay Alam reached the spot, took the dead body into custody, and sent it to Phase-6 hospital for postmortem.
The deceased has been identified as 35-yr-old Jaspinder Kaur who resided as a tenant on the first floor of house number 537, Phase-7, Mohali. Her friend, Ratanvir, who resides in Phase-3B2 of Mohali, was called by the police on the spot. She revealed that Jaspinder’s husband was posted in the Army and she was living here with her son since the last one year.
Jaspinder’s son informed the police that his mother hanged herself to the ceiling fan with a chunni three days back. The kid used to go out to the park to play in the evenings. He would then come back, have biscuits and go to sleep, all the while his mother was hanging from the ceiling.
According to Ratanvir, the Jaspinder’s son was studying in Dagshai Army School in Solan, but had been brought back by her recently. She didn’t mix up with the neighbours and often had quarrels with her husband, she told the police. The police have handed the boy’s temporary custody to Ratanvir as the whereabouts of Jaspinder’s family are unknown.
