The Hust Post: Even as the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report on sacrilege incidents in Punjab continues to generate much political heat in Punjab, actor Akshay Kumar has denied having met rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim, as the report allegedly says.
The Bollywood actor has stated that he has never met the dera chief in his life and has dismissed the ‘rumours’. Akshay has said that he has no knowledge of any such report wherein a probe has been conducted against him in a case related to grant of pardon to Gurmeet Ram Rahim, reported Jansatta.
Akshay Kumar’s name has cropped up in the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report which alleges that he had arranged a meeting with the Dera Sacha Sauda chief and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal at his flat in Mumbai. Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s report, the first part of which was leaked online, reportedly states that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leadership had “coerced” the five Sikh high priests to grant a pardon to Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Rampuraphul ex-MLA Harbans Singh Jalal had reportedly told the Commission that the deal was struck for Rs. 100 crore. Though Jalal continues to flip-flop on his stand, Akshay Kumar has refuted the claims being made.
Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report is set to be tabled in the Punjab Assembly in the ongoing Monsoon Session and is set to rock the House even an the SAD has rejected the report.
