Rajya Sabha MP mocks Sidhu over his bhangra jig at launch of Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur flight, quips, ‘begaani shaadi me abdullah deewana’
The Hush Post: Punjab BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Shwait Malik today slammed state cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for his bhangra jig during the launch of Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur flight on Tuesday. In a press statement issued here today, Malik said that he was taken aback seeing Sidhu dancing on the occasion as it was during his 10-year-tenure as MP that majority of the flights had stopped operating from Amritsar.
Mocking Sidhu, the Rajya Sabha MP quipped, “begaani shaadi me abdullah deewana”, adding that he had himself continuously appealed to the PM Modi-led centre government to not only start the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur flight, but international flights to Birmingham, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Bangkok and domestic flights to Pune, Mumbai, Chennai , Bengaluru and Delhi as well.
Malik alleged that in order to benefit a private company which was managing the Delhi Airport, the previous UPA government had conspired to stop majority of the inbound and outbound international and domestic flights in Amritsar. He said that this not only affected Punjabis who had to visit Delhi to catch international flights, but the trade of agro-products, fruits, flowers, vegetables etc. also took a hit. “Sidhu merely kept watching silently for 10 years while all this was transpiring”, said Malik.
