FIR against DSGMC chief Manjit Singh GK for financial irregularities

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Manjit Singh GK and others for allegedly committing financial irregularities. Others involved in the case are General Manager Harjeet Singh Subedar and joint secretary Amarjit Singh Pappu.

The complaint was made by Gurmeet Singh Shanty, a member of the DSGMC. In the FIR, he alleged that GK and other office-bearers of the gurdwara committee indulged in large-scale corruption, forgery and misuse of gurdwara funds. GK was involved in the embezzlement of Rs 51 lakh gurdwara funds, it has been alleged.

He alleged that GK misused his powers and violated the provisions of the Delhi Gurdwara Act, 1971. Gurmeet also alleged that GK and Amarjit Singh Pappu along with other officials signed fake bills regarding printing of books. An FIR has been registered on the directions of the district court.

However, GK had resigned on December 6, 2018, after he came under fire over embezzlement allegations in the gurdwara funds.
