7 pilgrims killed in accident in Amritsar, were returning from Golden Temple

The Hush Post: Seven people have been killed in an accident in Amritsar. The mishap took place when a car banged into a truck. All the seven died on the spot and bodies lay strewn on the road. The identification of these pilgrims is still taking place.

The seven killed belonged to Haryana and were on their way back after paying a visit to Golden Temple. The mishap took place at Khalchia. The impact of the accident was so severe that seven of the eight died on the spot while one child who was also travelling is stated to be serious and admitted to Amandeep hospital.

The reason for the accident is believed to be an ill-driven car and also the fact that the driver could have fallen asleep.

The accident comes close on the heels of one in Una yesterday in which 18 people were injured, who too were pilgrims going to a temple in Haroli from Punjab.

There were a total of 39 passengers on that bus which turned turtle. The passengers had hired a school bus to pay the visit to the temple.
