The Hush Post: Two policemen were put under suspension for allegedly beating up an elderly woman and pulling her hair to drag her. This incident was captured on camera and is being widely shared on WhatsApp.
Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Nanak Singh has also marked a departmental inquiry against the Dyalpura’s Station House Officer (SHO). The cops put under suspension include an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Kuldeep Singh and a sub-inspector (SI) Beera Singh, a report said.
A video of the incident shows ASI Kuldeep Singh thrashing Jasbir Kaur, a 70-year-old brick kiln worker, and dragging her by pulling her hair. The report said that Jasbir Kaur, a native of Bajakhana area of Faridkot, worked at the Sukhanand village situated RK Bricks kiln owned by Minta Singh and Keshav Singh. On Saturday, the brick kiln owners called the police alleging that the kiln workers were threatening to detain them over unpaid dues, the report said.
When the police tried to take a worker into custody, Jasbir Kaur reportedly tried to intervene. Then ASI Kuldeep Singh started thrashing her for obstructing him. The kiln workers have reportedly alleged that the cops took workers into custody and beat them up. Jasbir Kaur was admitted in Civil Hospital in Bajakhana, it was reported.
Meanwhile, Bathinda Deputy Commission (DC) has also asked the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Rampura Phul to hold an inquiry in this incident and submit a report within three weeks, the report said.
