The Hush Post: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has made allegations of booth capturing on Congress workers in Bhathinda’s Salabatpura, Kangar and Bhairpura. Former minister Subsequently, Sikander Singh Malooka sat on a protest against the alleged booth capturing. He sat on the Barnala-Bhagta road protesting booth capturing.
Malooka and the current power minister Gurpreet Kangar, come from the same area. Kangar is the MLA from Rampura Phull.
Similar allegations came from Raja Sansi and Majitha where workers of both the parties began a scuffle. From Raja Sansi there were allegations of fraud voting by Congress and a subsequent uproar in Booth No 97 at Lodhi Gujjar village.
Earlier, AAP MLA from Mansa, Nazar Singh Manshahia also alleged booth capturing in Mirpur Khurd where he claimed the Congress workers abused and forced his party’s agent Jaspreet Singh out of the booth.
The polling begins at 8 am and conclude at 4 pm. Counting would be held on September 22.
More than 50,000 police personnel are assisting 35 observers on 17,268 booths. Voters will elect 354 members of 22 zila parishads and 2,900 members of 150 panchayat samitis.
