The Shiromani Akali Dal finally announced Sukhbir Singh Badal as its candidate from Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency while Harsimrat Kaur Badal will contest from Bathinda.
Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal made this announcement on Tuesday morning.
Rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sukhbir Singh Khaira is the Punjab Ekta Party candidate from Bathinda and the Congress has fielded Gidderbaha MLA Raja Amrinder Singh Warring from this seat. From Ferozepur, Sher Singh Ghubaya is the likely Congress candidate. Ghubaya, a former SAD leader, had joined the Congress last month.
Badal also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying Congress president Rahul Gandhi is still inexperienced in politics. He said that in the Lok Sabha elections the national issues are of utmost importance and the voters should vote accordingly.
About Rahul Gandhi he said, “Rahul has no administrative experience, never served as a minister or CM. Even for getting a driving licence you should know how to drive; so if one has to become PM one needs experience.”
Talking about the recent air strike, Badal said Modi had isolated Pakistan at the international level.
“Capt Amarinder Singh promised several things–debt waiver and wiping out drugs—and fooled people before forming the government. The Congress attacked the Akal Takht and snatched our river waters, whereas Modi took the decision to open the Kartarpur Sahib corridor besides taking other landmark decisions.
