The Benelli TRK 502, one of the most awaited adventure touring motorcycles, was launched this Monday, on February 18. Being adventure tour bike, it will grab attention of many of the motorcycle enthusiasts. The motorcycle will come in two variants, TRK 502 and TRK 502 X. Both the variants will be imported as CKD and will assemble in India.
Earlier, the bike was seen in the Auto Expo last year. But after the launch, one can have the real taste of the machine. It will compete against the motorcycles like Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS and Kawasaki Versys X 300. But its major competition will be with Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
Talking about the technical specs, TRK 502X comes with a 500 cc parallel twin liquid cooled engine that churns out 47.6 PS of power @ 8500 rpm and 46 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. It has a 20 liter fuel tank which is a necessity for any adventure touring motorcycle. It comes with dual channel ABS 320 mm front discs brakes and 260 mm rear disc brakes. The TRK 502X has 19-inch spoke front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. With 50 mm upside down front forks, it has adjustable rear mono-shock.
Though TRK 502 is a great machine, but the path is going to be difficult as there are many worthy competitors already in the market. Eventually, it will all come down to the pricing of this machine. The price of TRK 502 is 5 Lakhs whereas TRK 502 X is priced at 5.40 lakhs. However, the Kawasaki Versys 650’s price is 6.69 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi and Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT retails at Rs 7.46 lakh. TRK502 is up against two more powerful and more capable machines. But both Kawasaki and Suzuki enjoy much bigger brand value and reputation in India.
