The Hush Post: The CBSE has announced that the Class 10 and Class 12 exams which were postponed in Punjab as a result of ‘Bharat bandh’ on April 2 will be held on April 27.
After the state government’s request due to a bandh by many Dalit organisations against the dilution of the SCs/STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the CBSE had postponed the examinations which were scheduled to be held on April 2.
It has been decided to conduct the cancelled examination in Punjab on April 27. Further, the roll numbers and exam centres will remain the same as before.
On April 2, Class XII students were to appear for the Hindi paper, while exams of Sanskrit, Urdu and French were to be held for Class 10 on the same day.
The board had then said that it had received a letter of request, from the Director General (school education) of Punjab government to postpone its examinations scheduled for April 2. It was as a result of this request letter that the exams were postponed.
