The Hush Post: With the arrest of three persons along with firearms in Ferozepur, the Counter Intelligence cops claimed to have busted a terror attack plot. The trio was arrested by the CI sleuths from the Ferozepur-Zira road and five pistols were seized from them.

The CI officials arrested them after getting a tip-off that these persons were planning a big terror attack in the area. The sleuths are now thoroughly investigating this case to know their links with other persons, a report said on Saturday.

Counter Intelligence AIG Narinderpal Singh Sidhu while briefing the media said that a tip-off was received that Sajan alias Mali son of Amarjit Singh, Prem alias Sahib son of Jagdish resident of Ward No.1 Bharat Nagar, Ferozepur and Amar alias Bhola son of Goba, resident of backside Gol Bagh, RSD College are planning for major loot on Ferozepur-Zira road near Satiya Wala bypass.

But two accused persons, namely Vishal alias Fouji and Sagar managed to escape from the spot, AIG Sidhu said.

The AIG said that one gun 12 bore with 20 live cartridges, two pistols 32 bore with 5 live cartridges, two country-made pistols 315 bore with two live cartridges and one motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar were seized from the arrested persons.

A case under sections 399, 402 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act has been registered at Fazilka police station.

AIG Sidhu said that with this arrest, the CI has got success in curbing the loot incidents in the area besides thwarting the attempt for the major mishap.

He said that it has come to light during the preliminary investigation that the arrested accused used to supply heroin.  More revelations are likely to come on the surface when the police remand will be taken from the court for further investigation, the AIG added.
