The Hush Post: Former Punjab finance minister and Rajya Sabha ex-MP Surinder Singla, 78, passed away at AIIMS. He was rushed to the hospital after he complained of breathlessness.
Singla had suffered from a pneumonia attack in May and was admitted to AIIMS. He had returned home in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area only about a fortnight ago. Singla suffered a major respiratory arrest early on Thursday morning and was rushed to AIIMS at 4 am. He died at around 6 am.
The family said they are waiting for the arrival of the late leader’s son and daughter who are both abroad. The cremation will be held at the Lodhi Crematorium at 11 am on Friday. Singla is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
