Contradicting Sidhu, Bajwa says that overspending by Badals does not amount to corruption
The Hush Post: Advising cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu not to be very boastful and vocal, Punjab’s Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa has said that by making boastful statements, Sidhu is getting his own situation embarrassing and not of the government as the government does not take even the notice of Sidhu’s barbs.
Bajwa, who has a clash of opinions with his Cabinet colleague Sidhu, said that Sidhu should not be very vocal and boastful. He said that the government hardly takes any note of Sidhu’s barbs.
Contradicting the statements by Sidhu regarding the alleged splurging of public money, Bajwa said that overspending does not amount to corruption. He said that overspending can be termed as diverting public money for wrong use but can never be called as corruption.
He said this defending Badals and said that the money spent by them in crores which Sidhu said amounted to corruption was just over-spending.
He cited the example of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is not corrupt while there are allegations of overspending of money against Delhi government.
Notably, Sidhu has been repeatedly making allegations of corruption against the former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
