A Pakistani woman who had infiltrated across the International Border (IB) at Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab passed away at a hospital in Amritsar early this morning. The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot 32-year-old Gulshan while trying to illegally cross the IB on Wednesday morning.
The Pakistani woman intruder had received bullet injuries on her hip, which even pierced her private parts. The BSF men took her to a military hospital. Later, the doctors referred her to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar. The doctors had removed the bullet from her hip but her condition continued to deteriorate.
Gulshan’s blood pressure dipped drastically in the morning and she succumbed to her injuries at 5:30 am. Hospital authorities have kept her body at the morgue. A post-mortem is expected to be done on Saturday.
BSF officials said that the woman was first asked to stop but she didn’t pay any heed, following which she was shot at. The BSF had even registered an FIR against Gulshan and was waiting for her to recover so that she could be interrogated.
