Aam Aadmi Party leader & Member Parliament Bhagwant Mann claims he has quitting drinking. Mann, who had acquired a notorious reputation for being found drunk in public functions and events says he quit drinking from January 1.

He said that even earlier he would never exceed his limit but the Opposition leaders tried to defame him.

He said in Punjabi while addressing the rally in Sangrur in front of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, “Je sawer da bhoolya hoya, sham nu wapas aa jaye te ohnu bhoolya ne kehnde, mein taa pher bi dapare ii aagaya.

Bhagwant Mann had acquired such a reputation in the past that in 2016, the suspended member of his party and MP Harinder Singh Khalsa, had complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan that his seat should be changed since Bhagwant Mann, who used to sit next to Khalsa, stinks of liquor.

On another occasion, he even fell in a public place a photo of which was published in a vernacular daily and subsequently went viral.

In an interview to a TV channel today, Mann’s mother said that he has quit drinking from today, though he announced it on January 1 but you will not find my son drinking.”

Kejriwal on the other hand compared Mann’s abstinence of liquor to a huge sacrifice.
