The Hush Post, Jagraon: With the arrest of three persons, the Ludhiana Rural (Jagraon) Police claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of robbers along with stolen goods worth Rs 25 lakh.
Ludhiana Rural (Jagraon) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varinder Singh Brar announced this at a press conference on Wednesday. The three arrested persons have been identified as Ajay Sharma alias Rinku, Vipul Kumar and Amit Maheshwarialias Ballo, all residents of Ladwa in Haryana.
The SSP said that a police party led by Sub Inspector (SI) Simarjit Singh, station house officer (SHO) Sadar Raikot achieved a huge success when it busted an inter-state gang of robbers who were involved in committing various thefts of shops in various districts of Punjab and Chandigarh.
SSP Brar said that on August 25 SHO Sadar Raikot had received secret information that accused Ajay Sharma alias Rinku, along with his accomplices Vipul Kumar and Amit Maheshwarialias Ballo, all residents of Ladwa in Haryana and some other unidentified persons are habitual of committing thefts by breaking shutters of shop in the city areas during night time and steal away articles like LCDs, Laptop, valuable goods etc.
On basis of this information, an FIR was registered under sections 457, 380, 473, 411 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sadar Raikot police station. And after that the three accused persons were.
The police have recovered stolen goods worth Rs 25 lakh from the arrested gang members. These goods include 15 LCD TV sets, 13 laptop computers, seven batteries, two dege, gold ornaments (35gm), readymade clothes (worth Rs 18,000) and Rs 1,02,000 cash
That total value of seized stolen goods is worth around Rs 25 lakh. Further investigations are going on to reveal the other crimes committed by these gang members, SSP Brar said.
