The Hush Post: SHO Parminder Bajwa who was sent to 14 days of judicial custody yesterday, has been taken to Drug De-addiction Centre at Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. He was taken to the de-addiction centre late yesternight. A team of four doctors will meet today to decide the future course of action regarding Bajwa’s medical and psychological condition and whether he has to be admitted or not.
Yesterday, he was sent to 14-day judicial custody which meant that he will have to stay in judicial custody till May 25. Before sending him to judicial custody, a medical was carried out on Bajwa. A case has been registered against him under Section 353 and 186 of the IPC.
Bajwa’s recent ‘claim to fame’ was the registration of an FIR against Hardev Singh Ladi, the Congress candidate for Shahkot by-elections in a case of illegal mining.
Earlier today, Bajwa had changed his appearance and was on his way to the court along with his lawyer when he was arrested. He had expressed apprehension of threat to his life from the state government and its officials. He had submitted an application in the Sessions Court Jalandhar, which had been rejected.
Earlier, Bajwa had registered an FIR against Laddi for the alleged illegal mining. This happened a day after Congress announced Laddi as their candidate for Shahkot by-election.
